February 25, 2026

Air India has unveiled its first flagship Maharaja Lounge at Indira Gandhi International Airport Terminal 3 in New Delhi, marking a key milestone in the airline’s ongoing transformation. The 16,000 sq. ft. facility accommodates around 300 guests across dedicated Business and First Class areas and forms part of the carrier’s wider Vihaan.AI programme.

Designed by Hirsch Bedner Associates, the lounge blends contemporary design with cultural references drawn from Air India’s heritage. Features include themed zones, live cooking stations, curated cocktails and a dedicated tea service, alongside experiential elements that reflect the airline’s iconic Maharaja identity.

Access will be extended to premium passengers, elite Maharaja Club members and eligible Star Alliance frequent flyers.

The Delhi opening is the first in a planned network of signature lounges across major global hubs, reinforcing Air India’s focus on premium ground services as competition intensifies in long-haul international travel.
