IHG Hotels & Resorts will introduce Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, marking the brand’s debut in the city with an opening slated for early 2029. The new hotel, situated on Jhansi Road, will offer 140 rooms, dining options, event space, a meeting room, and a fitness centre—designed to address the growing demand for quality accommodations in this rapidly developing secondary market.
Part of IHG’s strategy to expand into high-potential Indian cities, the property will feature the brand’s latest Generation 5 design for efficient, modern guest experiences. Gwalior’s expansion in manufacturing, infrastructure, and airport capacity, as well as its proximity to historic and leisure attractions like Orchha, Datia, and Kuno National Park, establishes it as an attractive destination for both leisure and corporate travellers.
This project joins 17 existing Holiday Inn Express hotels and 21 more in development across India, contributing to IHG’s robust pipeline of 72 hotels to open nationwide in the coming years.
