Mirove Artisanal Kitchen, a new restaurant in Jaipur, celebrates the city’s architectural heritage through a modern and soulful design inspired by Jantar Mantar. Founded by restaurateur Sonali Sharma as a tribute to Jaipur, the restaurant combines food, design, and emotion to capture the essence of Rajasthan in a contemporary setting.
Situated in the C-Scheme district, Mirove features a striking 60-foot-wide curved concrete façade that intriguingly conceals the interior while inviting curiosity. The brutalist exterior is painted in a muted pink shade reminiscent of Jaipur’s sandstone, complemented by deep maroon accents and textured elements like plastered walls resembling Rajasthan’s dunes and locally sourced granite flooring.
The restaurant’s layout seamlessly blends indoor and outdoor seating connected by a 360-degree central bar serving as both a coffee station and drinks counter. Artistic touches such as commissioned paintings, warm-toned origami light fixtures, and mismatched custom furniture add layers of character to the space. The outdoor area includes scalloped canopies for shade and a blue floor patch symbolizing a mirage.
In the evening, Mirove transitions to a lively venue with soft lighting and curated music, hosting events from DJ sessions to poetry readings. The design thoughtfully reinterprets traditional Rajasthani forms with minimalist geometry, upright and inverted arches, and a focus on spatial purity.
Architect Tanya Chutani emphasizes the departure from ornate style toward a refined and honest architectural expression that reflects Jaipur’s evolving spirit. Mirove offers more than dining, it’s a creative sanctuary where the structural beauty of Jaipur is experienced through food, art, and design.
