Lucknow to introduce Gomti River tourist cruise project

February 25, 2026

The Lucknow Development Authority is developing a tourist cruise on the Gomti River to enhance leisure experiences in Lucknow. The project, underway near Hanuman Setu, Lucknow, will accommodate up to 200 passengers and feature modern event and hospitality facilities.

Planned amenities include a conference hall, VIP lounge, digital screens and an open restaurant, positioning the cruise as a venue for tourism, corporate gatherings and private events. Construction has begun along the riverfront, with authorities targeting completion within five months following a recent site review by officials.

The initiative forms part of broader efforts to revitalise the Gomti riverfront and strengthen Lucknow’s urban tourism offering. Once operational, the cruise is expected to attract residents and visitors while supporting local employment and economic activity.

The project aligns with Uttar Pradesh’s push to combine infrastructure development with destination-led experiences across emerging city tourism hubs.
