Minor Hotels Signs Two Anantara Properties in India

April 10, 2026

Minor Hotels has announced two new signings under its Anantara Hotels & Resorts brand in India, marking the brand’s first resort and first urban hotel in the country.

Anantara Zanti Coorg Resort, set within a forested enclave near Madikeri in Karnataka’s UNESCO-recognised Western Ghats, is slated to open in 2028. The 69-key property is designed by Sri Lankan architect Channa Daswatte and draws on Coorg’s coffee heritage and Kodava culture. Facilities will include four dining venues, an Anantara Spa, a wellness centre, and meeting spaces.

The second signing, Anantara Kolkata Hotel, is expected to open in 2032 as part of the World Trade Center Salt Lake development. The 170-key urban property will serve Kolkata’s growing business and MICE market, with two restaurants, flexible event spaces, and leisure facilities.

Both signings follow the 2025 debut of Anantara Jewel Bagh Jaipur and are part of Minor Hotels’ broader India strategy, which targets 50 properties over the next decade across leisure, urban, and tier-two and tier-three city locations.
