Netarhat’s New Jungle Safari Puts Jharkhand’s “Queen of Chotanagpur” on the Map

December 2, 2025

Jharkhand has unveiled an immersive new experience for travellers, the Netarhat Jungle Safari, a project designed to showcase the hidden beauty of one of eastern India’s most underrated hill stations. Long known for its mist-wrapped forests, rolling hills and spectacular sunrise and sunset vistas, Netarhat in Latehar district is now stepping confidently into the spotlight with a safari that brings its wilderness to life.

The experience opens up deeper access to untouched forest trails, elegant waterfalls and the rich biodiversity surrounding the Palamau Tiger Reserve’s buffer zone, where visitors may spot tigers, leopards, deer and a wealth of birdlife. Routes cover key natural viewpoints as well as cultural landmarks such as the historic Chalet House and the famed Netarhat Residential School.

Safaris run twice daily, from 5:30 am to 10:00 am and 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm, with prices starting at ₹300 per person. Special open-jeep routes to Suggabandh and Lodh Falls offer added adventure. Crucially, the initiative supports local communities by training residents as guides and drivers, ensuring tourism growth remains sustainable.

With its quiet charm, pristine landscapes and this new safari experience, Netarhat is poised to become one of 2025’s most compelling offbeat escapes.
