Sri Lanka gives visa free access to 35 countries

Sri Lanka is set to allow visa-free entry for citizens of 35 countries, including India and China, starting from October. This move aims to boost tourism and simplify travel procedures. The initiative was announced by Tourism Minister Harin Fernando, emphasizing its role in enhancing visitor numbers and supporting the country’s economic recovery. The visa waiver is expected to attract tourists during the upcoming peak season, further establishing Sri Lanka as a prime destination for international travellers. The countries covered include Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belarus, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Iran, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Nepal, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Oman, the People’s Republic of China, Poland, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, UAE, and the United States.
