The Oberoi Group has announced that its recently restored heritage property near Khajuraho has been included on TIME magazine’s World’s Greatest Places list for 2026, an annual recognition of standout destinations and experiences around the world.
The Oberoi Rajgarh Palace is a 350-year-old palace set in Madhya Pradesh, close to Panna National Park and the UNESCO World Heritage temples of Khajuraho. Its restoration was led by a dedicated team of historians, conservation architects and craftsmen, with the aim of preserving the palace’s original Bundela dynasty character, from hand-carved stone pillars and historic courtyards to grand arches and ornate detailing.
The guest experience spans regional Bundelkhand cuisine, wildlife safaris at Panna National Park, home to Bengal tigers, leopards and sloth bears, and wellness offerings, all designed to reflect the cultural and natural fabric of the region.
The recognition is being seen as a broader signal of India’s growing prominence as a destination for culturally engaged international travellers, particularly given Khajuraho’s exceptional medieval temple heritage.
