Trump Organization to Develop Tokenised Luxury Resort in the Maldives

November 21, 2025

The Trump Organization and Saudi developer Dar Global have announced plans for an ultra-luxury resort in the Maldives, one that will also become the world’s first tokenised hotel project tied to its construction phase. The Trump International Hotel Maldives will feature 80 beach and overwater villas on an island located 25 minutes from Malé by speedboat, with an opening targeted for late 2028.

The project introduces tokenisation to real estate investment by offering digital tokens linked to the fund financing the resort’s construction. Using blockchain technology, tokenisation divides a real-world asset into digital units, allowing individual investors to participate from the earliest stages of development. Dar Global plans to retain 30–40% ownership of the $300 million project.

The collaboration extends the long-standing partnership between the two companies, which have previously worked together on high-profile developments across the Gulf, including projects in Dubai, Jeddah, Qatar, and Oman. Under their typical model, the Trump brand provides global recognition while Dar Global leads land acquisition and construction.

The Maldives venture also aligns with the Trump family’s wider push into digital finance, reflecting a growing integration of luxury real estate with blockchain-driven investment models.
