Virgin Atlantic to Increase London Heathrow–Bengaluru Flights from January 2026

January 5, 2026

Virgin Atlantic has announced an expansion of its London Heathrow–Bengaluru service, increasing frequencies from seven to eleven flights per week between January and March 2026. The enhanced schedule reflects the airline’s continued focus on strengthening air connectivity between the UK and India, while also improving onward access through Heathrow to North America.

The additional services will supplement Virgin Atlantic’s existing daily Bengaluru flights, which began operations in March 2024 and support both passenger and cargo demand. India remains the airline’s fastest-growing market outside the United States, driven by strong business travel, leisure demand, and cargo volumes.

This expansion aligns with Virgin Atlantic’s broader India strategy, which includes double-daily services to Delhi and Mumbai. The airline’s partnership with IndiGo further enhances domestic connectivity, offering seamless access to 33 Indian destinations, including Goa, Amritsar, and Jaipur.

As India’s leading technology and innovation hub, Bengaluru plays a key role in UK–India business ties. The increased frequency is expected to strengthen connections with the UK’s commercial ecosystem while enabling smoother onward travel to major North American cities such as Toronto, Seattle, San Francisco, and New York JFK through partnerships with Delta Air Lines and WestJet.

The route is operated using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, featuring Upper Class, Premium, and Economy cabins. Since 2019, Virgin Atlantic has expanded its India capacity by 250 per cent, now offering over half a million seats annually between the two markets.
