IndiGo has announced the start of direct daily flights connecting Thiruvananthapuram with Malé, the Maldives, beginning October 26, 2025. With this addition, the Kerala capital becomes the fourth Indian city- after Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Kochi- to enjoy non-stop services to the island nation.
The route will be served by ATR aircraft, offering a comfortable and cost-efficient option for travellers on this short-haul journey. Designed for both leisure seekers and business travellers, the schedule promises convenient timings and seamless connectivity, making quick getaways to the Maldives easier than ever.
Vinay Malhotra, IndiGo’s Head of Sales, highlighted that the airline will now operate 28 weekly flights to Malé, reflecting the growing demand for travel between India and the Maldives. The new service also supports expanding trade and tourism ties, as India remains one of the Maldives’ top source markets.
This launch strengthens regional links while boosting tourism and business opportunities, coinciding with the recent expansion of Velana International Airport in Malé. For travellers in southern India, the new route offers a swift gateway to the Maldives’ turquoise waters and luxury resorts.
