IndiGo has launched a new flight service connecting Varanasi and New Delhi via Khajuraho, strengthening air connectivity and tourism prospects in Central India. The inaugural flight operated on Sunday, marking a significant development for travellers seeking easier access to Madhya Pradesh’s heritage hub.
According to Khajuraho Airport Director Santosh Singh, the service is expected to provide a major boost to tourism in the region, known for its UNESCO-listed temples and cultural heritage.
The new schedule will see the flight arrive in Khajuraho at 10:30 am from Delhi and continue to Varanasi, returning at 1:40 pm to depart for Delhi. With this addition, Khajuraho Airport now handles six flights daily, three arrivals and three departures, enhancing regional connectivity.
The new route not only facilitates easier travel between three key cultural destinations but also supports the government’s efforts to promote heritage tourism and regional air accessibility under India’s expanding aviation network.
