Mumbai has a new reason to slow down. The Gated Community opened in Juhu on July 24, a 3,500-square-foot restaurant designed around the idea that the city’s residents deserve a place that matches none of its usual pace.
Behind the venture are three hospitality veterans, Prashant Chaudhri, Puneet Gidwani, and Nirmal Patel, who, between them, bring over two decades of industry experience. The space unfolds across a marble bar, a piano-anchored dining room with communal and intimate seating, and The Oak Room, a private dining area for celebrations.
The menu, led by executive chef Aashish, draws from the founders’ travels across Italy, Spain, Japan, and Mexico, with sharing plates at its centre. Sunday brunch has been built for long, unhurried afternoons with family and friends. The cocktail programme runs across three chapters: signature creations, twisted classics, and dessert-inspired drinks, using techniques such as fat-washing, smoke, and hydrosol distillation.
A rooftop destination is expected to open before the end of the year, extending the experience beyond its current footprint.
