In India, chai is more than a drink. It is a morning ritual, a reason to pause, a companion to conversation and, quite often, the beginning of a story.
The Chai Class invites you to step into this everyday yet deeply cherished part of Indian life through an intimate, hands-on experience dedicated to the art of tea.
Over the course of an engaging 60-minute session, discover the aromas, flavours and traditions behind some of India’s finest teas. Learn how different leaves interact with fragrant spices, herbs and flowers, and understand how ingredients such as cardamom, ginger, cinnamon and other botanicals have found their place in India’s tea culture.
Then, it is your turn to become the chai maker.
Guided through the process of blending and brewing, you will learn the techniques behind a traditional Masala Chai as well as explore the subtler character of Green Tea. Experiment with ingredients, discover the combinations that appeal to your palate and create a blend that feels distinctly your own.
And because chai in India is rarely enjoyed alone, settle in with a freshly prepared cup accompanied by a traditional Indian snack—the perfect moment to simply sip, savour and exchange stories.
Hosted in the warmth of a private home studio or arranged at a venue of choice, The Chai Class is less about learning a recipe and more about discovering a ritual—one that connects flavour, hospitality and everyday Indian life.
You may arrive knowing chai simply as tea.
You leave knowing why, in India, it means so much more.
