The Jagannath Rath Yatra is one of India’s most revered grand festivals, celebrated annually in Puri, Odisha. It is a nine-day event dedicated to Lord Jagannath and his siblings, Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra. The festival marks their journey from the Jagannath Temple to the Gundicha Temple in a grand procession, signifying a visit to their aunt’s house. The journey takes place on elaborately decorated chariots, drawn by thousands of devotees in a vibrant display of devotion and unity. The festival is a religious event and a cultural celebration, drawing millions of pilgrims and tourists from around the world. The procession is accompanied by chants, prayers, and bells, creating an atmosphere of spiritual fervour.
