Ahmedabad Airport’s Terminal 2 to Host More Domestic Flights

March 27, 2025

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) Airport in Ahmedabad is set to witness a significant operational shift as two more airlines move their domestic flight operations to Terminal 2 (T2). This transition aims to streamline passenger flow, enhance airport efficiency, and offer a more seamless travel experience.

T2, originally designed for international flights, has been gradually accommodating domestic operations to decongest Terminal 1. The terminal boasts modern amenities, improved check-in counters, spacious lounges, and better baggage handling systems, ensuring a more comfortable journey for travelers.

With this latest shift, an increased number of domestic passengers will now experience the advanced infrastructure of T2. This move is expected to reduce congestion at Terminal 1, improving overall airport operations and passenger convenience.

Ahmedabad Airport has been witnessing a steady rise in domestic air traffic, making such infrastructure enhancements crucial. Authorities have assured that all necessary arrangements are in place to ensure a smooth transition, minimizing disruptions for passengers.

As the city continues to grow as a major business and travel hub, this strategic move reflects Ahmedabad’s commitment to improving aviation facilities, making air travel more efficient and passenger-friendly for both domestic and international travelers.
