Eravikulam National Park Reopens: Witness Newborn Nilgiri Tahrs in Munnar

Eravikulam National Park in Munnar is set to reopen on April 1, following its annual closure during the Nilgiri Tahr calving season. This reopening offers a unique opportunity for wildlife enthusiasts to observe numerous newborn Tahrs in their natural habitat.

Located approximately 13 kilometers from Munnar, the park operates daily from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Entry tickets can be booked online to ensure a hassle-free experience, with separate pricing for domestic and international visitors.

Renowned for its rolling grasslands and as the habitat of the endangered Nilgiri Tahr, Eravikulam National Park is also home to the rare Neelakurinji flowers, which bloom once every twelve years. The summer months of April and May are particularly favorable for wildlife spotting, offering visitors a glimpse into the park’s diverse ecosystem.
