Advance safari bookings for Ranthambore Tiger Reserve’s upcoming season opened to an extraordinary response, with nearly 40,000 registrations recorded within two hours of the booking window going live on August 1. Of those, around 14,000 were foreign visitors, accounting for close to 40% of total bookings on the first day.
Bookings cover safaris between October 1 and December 31, with seats remaining available across several dates, including peak periods such as Diwali and Christmas, even after the initial rush. Real-time availability on the portal allowed travellers to select dates and safari options with greater transparency than in previous seasons.
For the first time, foreign tourists could book directly through the official portal from their home countries, with registrations coming in from the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, and the Netherlands.
The system also held firm against significant digital interference, successfully blocking over 20 lakh suspicious cyber-attack attempts, more than 150 suspicious IP addresses, and upwards of two crore fake requests, all without disrupting the booking process for genuine users.
