The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts has appointed hospitality veteran Rajesh Namby as General Manager of The Leela Coorg Forest Sanctuary, marking a key step towards the launch of its first forest sanctuary in the Western Ghats.
With over three decades of experience in luxury hospitality, Namby returns to The Leela, where he began his career at The Leela Palace Bengaluru before taking on leadership roles in New Delhi and Udaipur. His professional journey also includes senior positions at Raffles Udaipur, The Lodhi New Delhi, Hyatt Regency Kolkata and Hilton Golden Palms Resort & Spa Bengaluru.
Spread across 76 acres of forest, The Leela Coorg Forest Sanctuary is being developed as a nature-led luxury retreat, bringing together wellness, culinary experiences, personalised hospitality and immersive programmes inspired by the region’s landscape and culture.
In his new role, Namby will oversee the property’s operations, team and guest experience, with a focus on establishing it as a distinctive luxury destination.
The appointment comes as The Leela celebrates four decades in Indian luxury hospitality, with the Coorg property adding a new nature-focused dimension to its portfolio.
