Luxury Cruise Ship Gangotri Launches in Varanasi

A new luxury cruise ship named Gangotri has arrived in Varanasi, offering tourists a five-star hotel experience along the waterways between Kashi, Chunar, and Prayagraj. Operations are slated to begin in August, with trip packages ranging from 3 to 6 days available for online booking.

Measuring 52 meters long and 12 meters wide, the three-story vessel can accommodate up to 200 passengers with 24 rooms featuring air conditioning and large windows that provide stunning views of the ghats and opportunities to spot Gangetic dolphins. The cruise is designed to navigate waters up to 1.45 meters deep.

Gangotri boasts luxurious amenities including a gym, spa, restaurant, and sun deck, enhancing passenger comfort and scenic enjoyment. The cruise will depart from Varanasi’s Ravidas Ghat and travel through Ghazipur, Mirzapur, Chunar Fort, Vindhyachal, and Prayagraj, cruising at speeds between 15 to 20 km/h.

Passengers can experience a rich cultural itinerary featuring devotional music, yoga sessions, traditional Banarasi cuisine, heritage lectures, ghat tours, and other local programs. Additional facilities include a lift, meeting hall, and waiting room, making Gangotri a comprehensive floating luxury retreat along the historic Ganges River.
