Uttar Pradesh National Parks and Tiger Reserves to Open from November 1

August 22, 2025

Uttar Pradesh’s National Parks and Tiger Reserves will now open earlier for tourists, starting November 1 instead of November 15, allowing visitors an additional 15 days to explore the state’s wildlife destinations. The Forest Department is finalizing preparations, with an official order and online booking activation expected soon.

The state is home to notable parks, including Dudhwa National Park, Pilibhit Tiger Reserve, Katarnia Ghat Wildlife Sanctuary, and Ranipur Tiger Reserve in Chitrakoot. These areas close from June 15 each year during the monsoon season to protect wildlife habitats, maintain ecological balance, and restore forest roads.

The early reopening aims to provide more opportunities for wildlife enthusiasts to enjoy the parks, especially in winter when migratory birds arrive. Dr Arun Kumar Saxena, Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, confirmed the change will take effect this year for all National Parks and Tiger Reserves in Uttar Pradesh.
