The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has issued a weather advisory urging trekkers, mountaineers, and tourists to exercise extreme caution while travelling in the Himalayan and hilly regions due to adverse weather conditions from October 27 to 29.
According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, a western disturbance combined with a low-pressure system over the Arabian Sea is bringing rainfall and heavy snowfall to several provinces, including Gandaki, Lumbini, Bagmati, and Karnali. Districts such as Manang, Mustang, Dolpa, Humla, and Rasuwa are among the areas likely to experience disruptions.
Local authorities in the Annapurna and Manaslu regions have advised trekkers to remain in touch with guides and stay in safe shelters until conditions improve. The Annapurna Base Camp route has been temporarily closed until October 31 due to unsafe conditions.
The NTB has urged hotels, resorts, and homestays in affected zones to provide assistance and shelter at fair rates, while tourists facing difficulties are encouraged to contact local authorities or Tourist Police. Travellers are advised to stay updated through official weather bulletins and prioritise safety above all.
