Indore Airport’s Renovated Terminal-1 Set to Open, Night Operations to Resume

April 7, 2026

Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport in Indore is set for a significant upgrade with the virtual inauguration of its renovated Terminal-1 and the imminent resumption of round-the-clock flight operations.

The refurbished T-1, completed at a cost of Rs 50 crore over nearly two years, spans 6,000 square metres and is designed to handle up to 10 lakh passengers annually. The terminal features 14 check-in counters, seating for 400 passengers, dedicated facilities for persons with disabilities, 150 parking slots and three advanced X-ray machines. It will primarily serve smaller ATR-type aircraft, handling an estimated 2,739 passengers daily, with flight operations commencing after final security clearances are obtained.

Separately, a Rs 25 crore runway recarpeting project on the airport’s 2,754-metre airstrip is nearing completion, ending 14 months of nighttime restrictions that had halted flights between 10:30 pm and 6:30 am. Full 24-hour operations are expected to resume in April.

The terminal will also house Udaan Cafe, a new food and beverage initiative offering refreshments at street-comparable prices, alongside a proposed inter-airport library lending service for passengers.
