Accor’s Mantis Brand Makes Its India Debut In Nagarhole

May 25, 2026

Accor is bringing its conservation-led Mantis brand to India for the first time, with the signing of Mantis Nagarhole, a premium wilderness retreat on the edge of Karnataka’s Nagarhole Tiger Reserve. Scheduled to open in 2028, the project marks a significant addition to India’s eco-luxury hospitality landscape.

The 31-key retreat will be spread across approximately 13 acres within the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve, one of the country’s most ecologically significant natural habitats. A mix of cottages and rooms will be complemented by an all-day dining restaurant, bar, swimming pool, spa, gym, and a viewing tower. Guided safaris, nature trails, and cultural immersions will form the core of the guest experience.

Developed in partnership with Macs Max Private Limited, led by Balram Hirehal Jairaj, the project will follow low-impact design principles and integrate Accor’s global sustainability standards across energy efficiency, biodiversity conservation, and environmental resilience.

Nagarhole has steadily emerged as a niche luxury ecotourism destination, drawing domestic and international travellers seeking high-quality, low-density wildlife experiences. With limited premium inventory in the region and rising demand for responsible travel, Mantis Nagarhole is well positioned to set a new benchmark for eco-luxury in South India.
