Madhya Pradesh’s First Glass Bridge Nears Completion In Panna

June 16, 2026

Madhya Pradesh’s first glass bridge, located at Brihaspati Kund in Panna district, has reached structural completion, though authorities are still finalising details before opening it to tourists.

The skywalk measures 28 metres in length, with an 11-metre section suspended over a gorge nearly 700 feet deep. Built using 41mm high-security transparent glass, the structure offers visitors a dramatic view of the Baghein River valley and its waterfalls, which cascade from a height of 700 metres during the monsoon.

Brihaspati Kund itself carries considerable historical and mythological significance. Located around 30 km from Panna and close to Kalinjar Fort, the site is believed to have once housed ashrams of sages and saints, with ancient texts describing a visit by Lord Rama from Chitrakoot during the Treta Yuga to meet these revered figures.

Once operational, the glass bridge is expected to become a notable addition to Panna’s tourism offerings, combining natural scenery with a touch of mythology and engineering.
