Bandipur Tiger Reserve has revised its safari fares, with the adult bus ticket rising from Rs 650 to Rs 1,000 and the children’s fare increasing from Rs 350 to Rs 500. For jeep safaris, adult tickets have gone up from Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500, while children will now pay Rs 750, up from Rs 500.
Additional charges include Rs 1,500 plus GST for cameras fitted with lenses above 200 mm, and parking fees of Rs 100 for cars, Rs 200 for light vehicles, and Rs 300 for buses. Children under three years of age may enter free but must share a seat with a parent during the safari.
On the first day of the revised pricing, 191 tourists visited the reserve across morning and evening safaris, generating total revenue of Rs 2.72 lakh. Forest officials expect the fare revision to deliver around 40% additional revenue for the department going forward.
