Sanglaphu Lake in Mangan district is now open to visitors for the first time. This high-altitude lake, previously inaccessible, offers a chance to explore the stunning region at an altitude of 5080m (16,670ft). Located about 5 km from Yumesamdong (Zero Point), near Lachung, Sanglaphu Cho is a revered lake with significant religious importance. Surrounded by snow-capped peaks and pristine wilderness, it exudes serenity. Monks from Samten Choling Monastery in Lachung conducted a ceremonial prayer at the opening event, attended by Lachung dzomsa members and representatives from the hotel association and cab drivers. Visitors must protect the lake’s sanctity by avoiding single-use plastics, and only four-wheel-drive vehicles are recommended.
