Eight Continents Hotels & Resorts has expanded its India footprint with the launch of Hanric, Varkala, the latest addition to its Hanric by Eight Continents brand. The opening strengthens the UK-based group’s presence in southern India, building on a strategy focused on high-growth, experience-led destinations.
Designed around Varkala’s coastal character, the property offers 32 rooms alongside a restaurant, bar, and banquet facilities suited to leisure travellers and smaller social gatherings. Varkala has steadily grown in popularity for its cliffside views, beaches, and wellness tourism, drawing both domestic and international visitors seeking more immersive holidays.
Eight Continents will operate the property directly, with a focus on destination-led hospitality and guest experience as it positions Hanric, Varkala as a preferred address in the region.
The opening adds to a portfolio that already spans Kasauli, Udaipur, Sariska, Jodhpur, and Pushkar in India, alongside international locations including Belfast, Guernsey, and Zanzibar.
Across brands such as Treetop, Hanric, Stamps, and Ocho Homes, the group continues to build a design-led hospitality presence across both established and emerging travel markets.
