India’s flagship luxury train, Maharajas’ Express, reported a 39 % revenue increase in Q3 FY2025–26, earning ₹53.14 crore compared with ₹38 crore in the same period last year. Operated by Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation, the train runs seasonally from October to mid-April and continues to attract high-value experiential travellers.
Launched in 2010, the train is positioned among the world’s leading luxury rail journeys, offering curated itineraries across destinations including Agra, Jaipur, Udaipur and Varanasi. Routes range from week-long journeys such as The Indian Splendour and Heritage of India to shorter experiences like Treasures of India.
The revenue growth reflects sustained demand for immersive rail travel combining heritage, hospitality and curated sightseeing. Updated pricing for the 2026–27 season spans deluxe cabins to presidential suites, reinforcing the train’s positioning within India’s premium travel segment.
