Jaipur’s dining scene has a new addition that looks deliberately backwards to move forward. Arirasa, a fine-dining restaurant rooted in North Indian vegetarian cuisine, takes its name from two words: Ari, meaning wheel, and Rasa, the essence of life. Together, they frame the restaurant’s central premise that time is cyclical and what once defined a city’s character deserves to be reexperienced, not merely remembered.
The project is personal for founder Kashish Vyas, who returned to Jaipur after years away to find a city growing rapidly at the cost of its visual and cultural identity. Arirasa is his response to that shift.
Designed through an Art Deco lens, the interiors draw on locally sourced red lakha and kota stone, stained glass, brass accents and hand-painted patterns in jewel tones against a largely white backdrop. High ceilings and soft lighting keep the atmosphere unhurried.
The menu stays true to pure vegetarian North Indian cooking, balancing familiar flavours with considered technique and quality ingredients. For visitors and locals alike, it offers a quieter, more considered alternative to Jaipur’s more overtly touristic dining options.
