Brij Tara Brings Quiet Luxury to the Edge of Ranthambore

October 19, 2026

On October 11, 2026, Brij Hotels, part of the IHCL portfolio, opened Brij Tara, a private 17-key retreat set across nine acres on the fringe of Ranthambore National Park. The aim is to pair the excitement of the jungle with the gentle pace of a Rajasthani home.

Co-founder Udit Kumar explained that Ranthambore has a rare way of balancing wild thrills with deep calm, and that the team set out to make the destination part of every stay.

Villas, cottages and suites each come with a private garden or a heated plunge pool, while a large man-made lake anchors the property and invites slow breakfasts and evenings by the water. Earthy exteriors that echo traditional mud plaster and natural stone help the buildings settle into the terrain. Inside, hand-painted jungle scenes meet locally sourced details.

Tiger safaris remain the highlight, but guests can also cruise the Chambal River to spot crocodiles, go birdwatching at Surwal, explore on horseback or visit Ranthambore Fort. Cultural sessions include folk music, lac bangle making and cooking classes.

Dining celebrates Rajasthan’s heritage, from open-fire cooking at Tara Mahal to forest-inspired cocktails at Mehfil and starlit dinners on a raised machan.
