Polo Hotels Reveals Expansion Plans And New Brand Identity

May 4, 2026

Polo Hotels & Resorts is entering a new phase. At a media showcase held at Meghalaya House on April 22, the brand unveiled a restructured identity and an ambitious growth roadmap, marking its shift from a regional name to a national hospitality player.

Founded in Meghalaya in 1991, Polo has long been rooted in the Northeast. Its new brand architecture doesn’t reinvent that legacy; it refines it, positioning the group in the space between boutique intimacy and the consistency of larger hotel chains.

Expansion plans span nearly every northeastern state, with a notable move westward: Planters Lodge in the Dooars, West Bengal. Set within tea gardens and designed around an all-bungalow layout, the property leans firmly into slow, immersive travel.

The group’s four flagship properties anchor its current portfolio: Polo Towers Shillong, Polo Resort Cherrapunji, Polo Floatel Calcutta, and Polo Hotel Agartala. Across these, Polo is shifting toward experiential stays, offering scenic dining, wellness programmes, and culturally rooted activities over conventional luxury formats.
