Delhi is poised to receive its first official logo, a move the government says will give the national capital a distinct visual identity. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced on Monday that an expert committee has been formed to evaluate submissions and finalise the design.
The panel, chaired by the Secretary of the Department of General Administration and supported by the Joint Secretary as Member Secretary, also includes experts from leading universities to ensure a broad and balanced review.
The competition for the logo, hosted earlier this month on the MyGov portal, invited designs from across the country. By the 26 September deadline, more than 1,800 entries had been received. The designs are now under review, with the final selection expected to reflect Delhi’s unique blend of history, culture, and progress while capturing the aspirations of its residents.
According to the Chief Minister, the logo will not only celebrate Delhi’s past but also embody principles of modern, transparent, and citizen-driven governance. Officials note that this marks the first formal attempt to give Delhi an emblem, one that could strengthen the city’s identity on both national and international platforms.
