Oberoi Rajgarh Palace Opens in Khajuraho, Marking a New Chapter in Madhya Pradesh’s Luxury Tourism

December 2, 2025

The Oberoi Group has unveiled its newest landmark: The Oberoi Rajgarh Palace in Khajuraho, inaugurated by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. Celebrating the launch, he noted that the property “reflects the rich heritage of Madhya Pradesh while providing world-class hospitality,” positioning it as a significant addition to the state’s tourism landscape.

The leadership of The Oberoi Group emphasised the palace’s role as both a restored historical asset and a gateway to the region’s artistic, natural and architectural treasures. The hotel is expected to draw a fresh wave of travellers to Khajuraho’s iconic temples, the wilderness of the Panna Tiger Reserve and the broader cultural fabric of Madhya Pradesh. Its launch also supports employment generation and sustainable tourism development in the state.

Set against the Managad Hills, the 350-year-old palace blends royal architecture with contemporary elegance, offering serene gardens, refined interiors and immersive cultural encounters. The opening comes as part of Oberoi’s wider expansion: four new hotels were announced earlier this year, contributing to EIH Limited’s pipeline of 25 properties, including luxury boats, scheduled through 2030. With upcoming openings across India, London, Egypt, Bhutan, Nepal and Saudi Arabia, the group is set to add over 2,000 keys to its distinguished portfolio.
