Bihar Tourism Introduces First Luxury Caravan Buses

December 11, 2025

Bihar Tourism has launched its first fleet of luxury caravan buses, offering travellers a hotel-style experience on the move. Designed for key circuits such as Bodhgaya, Nalanda and Valmiki Nagar, the caravans feature private bedrooms, a functional kitchen, entertainment systems and enhanced safety fittings, bringing premium comfort to long road journeys.

The service is priced at ₹75 per kilometre, with a minimum daily usage of 250 kilometres, amounting to roughly ₹20,000 per day. Built in Chandigarh to high hospitality standards, the caravans are engineered with detailed craftsmanship, according to Ratnesh Kumar, Manager, Bihar Tourism. He added that the department is securing additional permits, including a national travel permit that would eventually allow the vehicles to operate across India without restrictions.

The initiative aims to meet the rising demand for flexible, mobile tourism, offering visitors a new way to explore destinations with comfort, privacy and convenience.
