Ramada by Wyndham Opens in Kathmandu’s Dhumbarahi Neighbourhood

April 7, 2026

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has expanded its Nepal presence with the opening of Ramada by Wyndham Kathmandu Dhumbarahi, operated under franchise by Akama Hotel Limited.

Located in Dhumbarahi, approximately five kilometres from Tribhuvan International Airport, the 108-room property is well-positioned for both arriving international travellers and those exploring the capital. Interiors draw from Tibetan and Newari design traditions, grounding the hotel in Kathmandu’s rich cultural character while offering contemporary amenities including an all-day dining restaurant, coffee shop, two bars, banquet and meeting facilities, an outdoor infinity pool, spa, sauna and fitness centre.

Kathmandu remains one of South Asia’s most visited cities, home to seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites including Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa and Swayambhunath, alongside the three historic Durbar Squares. The city also serves as the primary gateway for travellers heading to the Himalayas, with Nagarkot’s celebrated mountain views just 28 kilometres away.

The opening marks Wyndham’s first Ramada-branded property in the Nepali capital, adding an internationally recognised option to a hospitality market that continues to attract growing interest from global operators.
