ITC Hotels has opened Welcomhotel Bhubaneswar, marking the brand’s entry into Odisha and strengthening its presence across eastern India. The property sits just 8 kilometres from the airport and was inaugurated by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
The design draws directly from Bhubaneswar’s identity as a city of temples. Descending rooflines, pronounced overhangs, covered walkways, and stone-influenced facades give the building a sense of place that goes beyond surface-level regional decoration.
The hotel offers 107 rooms, including a presidential suite, three executive suites, and four junior suites. Its dining programme is where ITC’s culinary reputation comes through most clearly. WelcomCafe handles everyday dining, while WelcomSthalika presents Odishan regional cuisine as a curated tasting experience. Peshawri brings its signature clay tandoor cooking, and Swizzle serves as the in-house bar. Sunbean Cafe rounds out the options with freshly baked goods and speciality coffee.
Event infrastructure covers 2,600 square metres of landscaped outdoor and banquet space, suited to weddings, conferences, and corporate gatherings alike. For a city that draws both pilgrimage travellers and business visitors, the timing of this opening makes considerable sense.
