Summit Hotels & Resorts has entered the spiritual tourism segment with the launch of The Mandir Collection, a new hospitality brand focused on pilgrimage destinations and faith-led travel experiences.
The first property under the brand, Summit Salasar, is planned near the Salasar Balaji Temple in Rajasthan. The retreat will offer approximately 70 rooms and villas, including private pool villas, alongside a Satvik dining concept, temple assistance services, devotional evening sessions, wellness experiences, and banquet and outdoor event spaces.
The launch reflects a broader shift in how Indian travellers approach pilgrimage. Faith-based trips increasingly blend devotion with wellness, culture, and personal reflection, drawing a wider audience beyond traditional devotees. India’s spiritual tourism economy is projected to reach 135 billion dollars by 2034, a figure that has prompted several hospitality players to develop purpose-built offerings for the segment.
Summit plans to expand The Mandir Collection to additional pilgrimage destinations, with Haridwar and Ayodhya among the locations currently under evaluation. The brand is being positioned to serve families, wellness travellers, and devotees seeking comfort and quality without compromising the spirit of the destination.
