The Maldives just made history as the world’s first country to implement a generational tobacco ban. Starting November 1, 2025, anyone born after January 1, 2007, cannot purchase, sell, or use tobacco products. This law is universal– it applies to foreign travellers as well.

If you’re planning your dream island getaway and fall under this age bracket, note that cigarettes are off-limits during your stay. Older travellers can still enjoy tobacco in designated resort areas and private spaces.

This groundbreaking move builds on the nation’s existing e-cigarette ban and reflects its commitment to creating a tobacco-free generation. The Maldives continues protecting both its people and visitors while championing global health goals.

On Monday, 20th October 2025, India will come alive in a glow of celebration as we mark Diwali, the festival of lights - a time of joy, reflection, and renewal.

As we celebrate this auspicious festival with our loved ones, please note that our office will remain closed on Monday, 20th and Tuesday, 21st October 2025. We will resume operations on Wednesday, 22nd October 2025.

Diwali, or Deepavali, meaning “a row of lights,” is one of India’s most cherished festivals, celebrating the triumph of good over evil and light over darkness. It is said that the people of Ayodhya lit rows of oil lamps to welcome Lord Rama home after fourteen years of exile, a gesture of love and faith that continues to illuminate homes and hearts across generations.

The festive season unfolds beautifully over five sacred days. It begins with Dhanteras, celebrating prosperity and new beginnings. Next comes Narak Chaturdashi or Choti Diwali, symbolising the victory of light over darkness. The third day, Diwali itself, is devoted to Lakshmi Puja, when families invite the goddess of wealth and fortune into their homes. The celebrations continue with Govardhan Puja, honouring nature and gratitude, and conclude with Bhai Dooj, a tender celebration of the bond between brothers and sisters.

Embracing this season of light, togetherness, and gratitude, we send our warmest wishes to everyone who has been part of our story.

May this Diwali bring joy, prosperity, and peace into your homes and hearts.
