Seclude Hampi 1800 Opens in Sandur, Near Hampi’s UNESCO Heritage Site

March 6, 2026

Seclude Hotels has unveiled Seclude Hampi 1800, a restored royal residence in Sandur, marking the boutique hotel group’s entry into the Hampi region. Originally home to the Royal Family of Sandur, the six-room property sits within palm groves and landscaped courtyards, just a short distance from one of India’s most celebrated UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

The restoration has been handled with care. The original carved woodwork, period furniture, and brass heirlooms belonging to the royal family remain intact, preserving an authentic sense of history throughout the property. Each of the six rooms draws from local culture and lore; Bazaar Yellow nods to the iconic Hampi Bazaar, while Lotus Pink references the sacred motif found across Hampi’s ancient temples.

Beyond the property, guests can explore Hampi’s riverside ruins, royal enclosures, and temple complexes, with experiences such as coracle rides on the Tungabhadra River.
With this addition, Seclude Hotels deepens its commitment to heritage restoration and low-impact tourism, offering travellers not just a place to stay, but a living piece of Indian history.
