JW Marriott Ranthambore Marks Marriott’s 10,000th Hotel Globally

June 15, 2026

Marriott International has reached a significant global milestone with the opening of its 10,000th property worldwide, and the honour has gone to India. JW Marriott Ranthambore Resort & Spa in Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan, becomes the company’s landmark hotel ahead of its 100th anniversary, and the 11th JW Marriott property in the country.

Located adjacent to Ranthambore National Park, renowned for Bengal tiger sightings and the UNESCO-listed Ranthambore Fort, the resort features 127 rooms and villas designed around a luxury wilderness experience. Dining spans contemporary Indian cuisine, regional specialities, and botanical-inspired concepts across multiple venues.

Marriott President and CEO Anthony Capuano noted the company’s growth from its modest beginnings as a small root beer stand nearly a century ago to a portfolio spanning 146 countries today.

The opening reflects India’s growing weight in Marriott’s global strategy, with further luxury openings planned, including The Ritz-Carlton Mumbai and The St. Regis New Delhi, both expected in 2027. Globally, Marriott’s luxury portfolio now spans around 700 hotels across 74 countries and seven brands, with the JW Marriott brand alone surpassing 130 properties worldwide.

The milestone also underscores a broader shift toward wildlife and experiential travel in India, as luxury brands increasingly look beyond major cities toward destination-led leisure markets.
