Accor has signed TRIBE Kathmandu Budhanilkantha, marking the design-led brand’s first entry into South Asia. Scheduled to open in 2029, the 100-key hotel is being developed in partnership with Sabrina Limited and will bring a contemporary, community-focused hospitality concept to one of Kathmandu’s quieter, greener districts.
Located in Budhanilkantha, the property sits close to key spiritual landmarks including Pashupatinath Temple and Boudhanath Stupa, offering an alternative to the city’s busier neighbourhoods while tapping into growing interest from culturally curious and experience-driven travellers.
The hotel will feature all-day dining, a specialty restaurant, a signature bar, roughly 800 sqm of event space, a swimming pool, spa, and fitness centre. True to TRIBE’s identity, the social spaces are designed to draw in locals and guests alike throughout the day.
The signing reflects Accor’s broader strategy of entering emerging micro-markets with strong growth potential, particularly as Nepal continues to attract global interest for culture, spirituality, and adventure tourism. The brand’s design-forward, affordable positioning is aimed squarely at a new generation of travellers, including digital nomads and those seeking longer, more connected stays.
Accor currently operates 74 hotels across South Asia under ten brands, with its lifestyle arm Ennismore also active in the region following the recent opening of Roswyn in Mumbai.
