Minimalist Hotels Debuts In Udaipur With A 1820s Heritage Haveli

June 2, 2026

Minimalist Hotels is making its Udaipur debut with the launch of Lake Pichola Edit, a boutique heritage property set within Bawlas ki Haveli on Bhimparmeshwar Marg, expected to open by the end of May 2026.

The haveli dates to 1820, originally gifted to a Rajput noble of the Mewar royal court and historically used to receive distinguished guests during the princely era. The section now housing the property was once known as the Mardana Haveli, reserved for male guests under the purdah system. Terracotta walls, intricate jharokhas, and heritage detailing have been carefully preserved through the restoration, balanced against Minimalist Hotels’ characteristically understated contemporary design.

The property will offer 18 rooms across categories, including the Maharaja Suite, Maharani Suite, Superior Twin, and Superior King. A rooftop restaurant and bar, Cabami, will overlook Lake Pichola and the city skyline, designed to carry guests from relaxed daytime dining through to evening.

For a brand built around thoughtful minimalism, Udaipur’s layered cultural character provides a fitting backdrop. The launch marks a meaningful step in Minimalist Hotels’ expansion across India’s boutique hospitality segment, targeting travellers who seek stays rooted in place rather than removed from it.
