The Residency Group has added Madurai to its portfolio with the opening of The Residency Signature Madurai, situated near the airport and a short distance from the Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple. The property was inaugurated on June 4 by Group Chairman Ravi Appaswamy.
Designed by Singapore-based architect Wong Chiu Man, the hotel draws its character from the grandeur of Meenakshi Temple, with nearly 300 intricately designed pillars referencing the famed thousand-pillar mandapam. The property comprises a luxury hotel block alongside an expansive convention centre spanning close to 80,000 square feet of event space.
Accommodation ranges from a presidential suite of nearly 2,000 square feet down to premium king rooms, with club lounge access available for guests seeking a more residential experience during extended stays.
Three dining concepts anchor the food offering. Chithirai is an all-day restaurant celebrating the flavours of Madurai, Chin Chin focuses on oriental cuisine, and the Grand Trunk Restaurant, opening soon, will cover a broader sweep of Indian regional cooking. Eden Bar, Krave Bakery, a spa, salon, swimming pool, and fitness centre complete the amenities.
The Residency Signature Madurai is the group’s latest address after Chennai, Coimbatore, Puducherry, Karur, Rameswaram, and the Maldives.
