Indian Railways is set to introduce a new Vistadome train on the historic Kalka-Shimla route, aiming to enhance the travel experience for passengers. Inspired by Switzerland’s Glacier Express, this narrow-gauge train features specially designed Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) coaches with large glass windows and roofs, allowing travellers to fully appreciate the scenic beauty of Himachal Pradesh. The 96-kilometer rail line, a UNESCO World Heritage site, passes through 18 stations, including Barog, Solan, and Kandaghat. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw shared a video of the new train on social media, highlighting its readiness to offer a unique journey through the region’s picturesque landscapes.
